Devil Cherries comes from Tiki Madman and originated from a cross between Trop Cherry and Devil Driver. Both parents are known for their pronounced terpenes and appearance, and this is clearly reflected in the strain. The strain leans predominantly towards indica and combines the juicy sweetness of Trop Cherry with the somewhat heavier, exotic side of Devil Driver. It is a variety that has grown primarily in smaller, artisanal circles, relying more on word-of-mouth than on large-scale campaigns. Among experienced growers, it is particularly appreciated for its long-lasting flavor.
Visually, this is one of the more striking strains. The buds are dense and compact, often with distinct purple discolorations running through the green. That color comes from anthocyanins, the same substances that give blueberries and red cabbage their hue. A heavy layer of trichomes covers the flowers, which also makes the strain interesting for those who work with resin. With good material, the buds glisten visibly as soon as light falls on them. The aroma is robust and leans mainly towards dark cherry and ripe fruit. Beneath that lies something creamy and sweet, with a subtle fuel-like undertone that makes the whole sharper. On the palate, those cherries come to the fore most clearly, followed by tropical fruit and a light spiciness in the finish. Limonene, myrcene, and caryophyllene are the terpenes that define the most here. That mix ensures that the profile remains sweet without becoming bland.
